A wonderful Saturday morning exploring North Central Florida with Sarah (the incredible canine)
First an early (7 a.m. on Saturday is EARLY!) breakfast at the original 43rd Street Deli (you know, the one that is actually sort of on 43rd street)
Then up Highway 121 to see the Cellon Oak Tree about 3 miles south of Lacrosse. A champion live oak who's previous land owner deeded the property to the county for a park. Took each others pictures with Sarah to illustrate just how majestic this tree truly is.
Next heading down the road to the organic blueberry farm we saw a donkey and some goats in a field. Linda turned the car around so I could take some pictures. And in the ditch were some incredible flowers. One, the purple one I first took for a alfalfa blossom, I still haven't been able to identify.
Picking blueberries was actually fun - for all three of us. Sarah got to run loose on the farm and explore to her hearts content.
12 pounds of blueberries later, we're heading home. Of course the cats are curious.
To be fair, once the blueberries were cleaned (but not washed), the cats were NOT next to them.
What a wonderful morning ...
